| Hmmm... so I guess I'm not too good at writing in here very often... Life just kind of passes us by in a hurry! School has started, so Rocky's busy writing lessons and tests and things for his second year of teaching. Things have picked up at the bookstore again, the Christmas rush is starting for me. I just got a whole bunch of cardboard displays and product to put in them of Christmas boxed cards, gift bags, wrapping paper, etc. Yeah I know it's only September. God bless! | | |
| Well I've joined the crowds...

| Things have been busy lately! Yesterday was Carissa's open house and it was so much fun. There were a lot of people and a lot of food, and the hot weather made swimming and tubing nice.
Last weekend (the 10th) was Angie and Rob's wedding! Rocky and I went to Chicago the Wednesday before and spent a few days there. We went to the Shedd Aquarium and the Adler Planetarium on Wednesday, then we spent all day Thursday at the Museum of Science & Industry. We got there 10 minutes before it opened and left 10 minutes before it closed - we were there for about 8 hours! But it was so much fun, we loved the submarine exhibit and tour. I'll be putting pictures up on my Piczo site!
The wedding was beautiful and I'm so happy for Angie and Rob! She looked like a princess and I got teary when she walked down the aisle. So now Rocky and I are no longer the newly-weds (well, at least not the most newly-weds!) | | |
| Time for an update...
Last Sunday was our first anniversary!!! We made it a whole year! Looking at our house and things in our lives it sometimes seems like just a few weeks ago, but thinking about everything that's happened over the last year makes it seem like it was a long time ago...
We didn't do anything super special, life is so crazy right now for both of us. We're going to spend a few days in Chicago the first part of June for Angie and Rob's wedding, so that will be a bit of a nice break!
Looking back over my entries recently, I realize I never wrote about how my store is closing. Family Christian Store #44 at Cornerstone University is now no more! Yesterday was our last day of business, and we spent today inventory-ing what's left and boxing it to ship to other stores. They've also been taking down all of the bookshelves and fixtures and things and it looks so EMPTY! The reality hasn't quite set in yet, but I'm sure it will soon... And before you ask about my job, I'm going to be the ICS (the same job I've been doing) at the store on 28th street, just another 10 minutes or so away.
Rocky has 2 more days of classes and then exams next week and he's done with his first year of teaching!! I'm so proud of him. It's been awfully rough at times, but we've made it through, and it's supposed to get better the next few years!
Have a blessed day! | | |
